Gantha had its monthly meeting was held on 18th Feb, Thursday at 5 pm. The February meeting was on Ekushey February, Language movement. There were seven members present at the meeting. Nur Quamrun joined from Banderban and talked about stories by Jahir Raihan, Hasan Azizul Haque on language movement. The book she talked about was compiled by Rashid Haider.Masrufa Ayesha Nusrat Recited the poem কাঁদতেআসিনি, ফাঁসিরদাবীনিয়েএসেছি by Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury. It was probably the first poem on Ekushey. Sauda Akhtar talked about her days during those fiery times. She mentioned that everyone starting from the children to the very elderly everyone had joined at the protest. The young children would chant the slogan রাষ্ট্রভাষাবাংলাচাই from roofs of their houses. Dr. Niaz Zaman read an extract by Halima Khatoon. I read a little piece by সৈয়দআবুলমকসুদ and sung the son আমিবাংলায়গানগাই। We ended the meeting by thanking everyone who joined the meeting. The next will be held on 20th March 2012 on Swadinata Dibosh.
